Welcome to Champsaur Mudgee Homedale

Our winegrower, Bill Washington and our vineyard overseer, Maurie Berry, welcome you to Champsaur. Champsaur is one of Australia’s oldest winemakers to be owned in the one family since it’s’ inception in 1886 and is a small volume boutique wine producer concentrating today on the making of fine red wines from its’ ‘Homedale’ Mudgee vineyard.

Our winegrower and vineyard overseer have been farming and, more lately, grape growing, together for more than 20 years and share with our winemakers, David Lowe and Jane Wilson, the philosophy that it is only with ‘hands on’ attention to fine detail in viticulture one can grow the ‘super premium’ quality grapes necessary for the production of wine of the highest quality.

Our commitment to the production of small volume, quality wine is borne out in our 2005 Homedale Shiraz being awarded a Gold Medal at the 2006 Clear Image Mudgee Wine Show, the premier event for Mudgee wines.
